Crawl Space Repair Case Studies: Mold Eliminated and Crawlspace Encapsulated in North Bellmore

Challenge

The customer recently bought a house and during inspection, they were told they may need to encapsulate and insulate the crawlspace. Gabriel Ryan, one of our system design specialists, did a thorough inspection of the crawlspace. He found signs of mold and dampness on the wooden floor joists. He proposed to the customer that we clean out the mold, encapsulate and insulate the crawlspace, and install a SaniDry Sedona dehumidifier to keep the space dry and mold free.

Solution

Travis Powell and his expert installation team used CleanStart Sanitizer to kill all the mold. They insulated the walls with the SilverGlo wall paneling system, and laid down CleanSpace drainage matting and liner to fully encapsulate the crawlspace. Lastly, they installed the SaniDry Sedona which will lower the humidity levels and filter out the air to eliminate the mold spores present in the air.

The hydrometer reads a high humidity level of 63.7% which is high enough to cause dampness in the crawlspace.

BEFORE: The dirt crawlspace was very small, but if left without insulating, will raise energy and heating costs.

AFTER: The crawlspace floor was encapsulated with CleanSpace and the walls were sprayed with Foamax for insulation.

AFTER: The crawlspace is encapsulated and the mold was removed from the wood above.

AFTER: The SaniDry Sedona is small enough to fit in a tiny crawlspace but boasts an industrial strength air filtration system.
