Foundation Repair Case Studies: Historic House Gets Foundation Support in Greenport, NY
This house was built in 1861 and had the stone foundation holding up the house some 150 years later. Because this is a historic house it could not be knocked down. The foundation was sinking and very old and needed to have new supports added to it.
We put in new footings with 18" sono tubes 3 ft down. We then put our SmartJack system in to not only stabilize the home but to actually lift it slightly. This took pressure off the old beams and support that was barely holding the house up. This homeowner was so excited that we were able to restore the integrity to his house!
