Foundation Repair Case Studies: Encapsulation, Insulation & Foundation Support

Challenge

This crawl space in Cedarhurst, NY needed to be insulated, encapsulated and it also suffered from foundation issues. The crawl space was getting abnormally cold during the winter and was at risk of mold during the summer. In addition, the bedroom floors above the crawl space were extremely slanted and uneven causing an uncomfortable living condition.

Solution

Our production team put SilverGlo on the walls of the crawl space to insulate the walls with its built-in radiant heat barrier surface. This will stop the crawl space from getting too cold in the winter time, but also protect it from humidity, moisture, and mold with the vapor barrier the SilverGlo provides. The SaniDry Sedona Dehumidifier was also installed to get rid of that muggy feeling in the crawl space and help prevent moisture. 

For the lingering foundation issues, Supplemental Beams were installed into the crawl space to help hold up the foundation as well as straighten it out. This actually caused the bedroom flooring above the crawl space, that was uneven and slanted, to become straightend out and become fully restored. Not only do the home owners now have a much healthier and safe crawl space, but they actually fixed a problem within their bedroom by improving their crawl space!
