Foundation Repair Case Studies: SmartJack Used To Raise Sagging Floors
Challenge
There were a few issues in this home in Massapequa Park, NY that needed addressing. First, there were cracks on the walls that were diminishing the structural foundation of the home. Second, because of the cracks on the walls, the walls foundations needed to be reinforced. Lastly, the foundation floors were sagging and needed to be held up. All of these were serious issues that needed to be handled delicately with a quick response.
Solution
Our foreman Travis Powell and his production team entered this Massapequa Park home to fix the lingering foundation issues. In regards to the cracking walls they used FlexiSpan. How FlexiSpan works is that a strip of flexible foam is installed over the cracks. This way no water can ever seep through the wall cracks and enter the walls of the home. To fix the next problem and reinforce the foundation walls, we used an 8 inch Power Brace. The Power Braces are custom-tailored, tightly secured, steel plates used to hold up your home and secure the foundation. The Power Brace permanently stabilized their walls, preventing any further bowing. Finally, the floors still needed to be taken care of as they were sagging. To do this the production team installed SmartJacks. SmartJacks are the best fix to sagging and/or bouncing floors. This is another permanent solution. Now this home is protected and permanently stabilized. The homeowners no longer have to worry about sinking foundations.
