Town Houses Protected from Fumes in Port Jefferson, NY with CleanSpace
Challenge
The Board of Health needed a vapor barrier system and venting system installed below the slab of new construction Town Houses. They wanted this installed to eradicate any possible fumes from a plume 30 miles away. Several companies they called were not able to put a system together and made it seem like it would be quite costly. The builder then called Healthy Basement Systems for advice.
Solution
We designed the vent system with our E-Z Flow piping around the perimeter underground. Then, Drainage Matting was installed on top of that and sealed. Finally, the CleanSpace vapor barrier covered the entire perimeter and was sealed with a low-VOC caulking at the walls and footing. This not only passed the testing but was significantly less costly than what the other companies had proposed.
