Foundation Repair Case Studies: Cracked Support Beam and Sagging Floors Fixed in Blue Point, NY

Challenge

This house was built around 1860 and the support beam in the middle of the house in the crawl space was cracked. The floors upstairs were not only sagging but creaked very loudly anytime anyone walked across them. The homeowner wanted to level the floors and stop the creaking.

Solution

To solve this homeowner's problem, we removed the cracked support beam and replaced it with our metal beam supported by new SmartJacks. Both of these actions will stabilize the center of the house. In addition, we lifted the beam until the floors were even upstairs.
