Basement Waterproofing Case Studies: CrawlSpace Repair & Waterproofing
Challenge
The homeowners of this house in Cutchogue, NY had noticed a weird smell coming from their crawl space. Upon further inspection, they also noticed the crawl space was unusually wet. To figure out what these issues were the homeowners called Healthy Basement Systems. We sent over our System Designs Specialist Gabriel Ryan. Gabriel regretted to inform them that mold had grown in their home due to the excess water and humidity that had built up in the crawl space over time. However, Gabriel assured them that Healthy Basement Systems will fix this issue and make the crawl space as good as new and protected from future mold growth.
Solution
Our production team led by Larry Foster entered the crawl space and used CleanStart Plus to kill off the mold that was living in the home. Once the entirety of the mold was safely disposed of, the team got to work on repairing and waterproofing the crawl space. CleanSpace Drainage Matting, followed by CleanSpace, was placed on the floors. CleanSpace helps absorb leaks from the floors and prevent water from infiltrating the area. In linkage with the CleanSpace were 2 sump pumps placed in the corners; A Smart Sump and an Ultra Sump. The purpose of these Sump Pumps is to take in the built up water that collects within the crawl space and safely dispose of it outside the foundation of the home. Finally, our top of the line Dehumidifier, the Sedona SaniDry, was put in the crawl space to stop humidity from building up. Humidity directly correlates with mold growth and the Sedona is a great way to prevent future mold growth from occurring. Now this crawl space, and the entire home, is mold free, waterproofed, repaired and safe!
