Healthy Basement Systems Case Studies: Sagging Floors Stablized in Long Beach, NY

Challenge

The homeowner contacted us because the floors in his house were uneven and sagging. Upon inspection, we discovered that footings for the main support beam under the house were installed on sand, which, over time, offered no support to the structure.

Solution

We dug 2.5 feet down and poured concrete pilings. We then installed our SmartJack® Crawl Space Stabilizers along the main support beam, stabilizing the house and restoring the integrity of the floors above.

Crawl space was accessed from the exterior of the house.

It was a tight squeeze getting in, but our production crew can tackle almost any challenging crawl space!

The original footings were installed directly on sand.

The unstable footings were resulting in a sagging main beam under the house,

After pouring concrete footings, we installed our SmartJack® Crawl Space Stabilizers, an adjustable supplemental support system used for sagging crawl spaces.

The SmartJack® Crawl Space Stabilizers lifted the main beam back into it's original position...

...resulting in a stabilized beam and fixing the sagging floors.
