Total Basement Finishing and Waterproofing in Selden

The customer called Healthy Basement Systems looking to completely renovate their basement. They had been living at their home for over 20 years and decided that it was time to clean, waterproof, and finish their already finished basement.

Upon inspection, we found signs of mold and water damage in the basement. We had to come up with a waterproofing solution first, which consisted of our patented WaterGuard piping system around the full perimeter as well as a SuperSump pump system. We removed the existing walls and flooring, and installed the ThermalDry wall system for insulation and BrightWall wall paneling system to stop water vapor from permeating the walls and provide a clean, finished look. Next, we installed our ThermalDry floor matting and floor tile system along the floors, which provide an air space under the floor and a thermal break from the cold slab. The flooring system is also mold resistant and won't absorb any water or water vapor in the basement. We replaced the basement windows with our EverLast window. The EverLast windows are designed for basements. They will never rot, rust, be eaten by termites or need to be painted. They also have a classy, timeless look. We added a half bathroom to the basement, and finished the job by installing two SaniDry Sedona dehumidifiers to filter out the air and eliminate any musty smells.

The end result was a clean and modern basement that is healthy and waterproof. The homeowner's will never have to worry about any more water damage or mold coming into their new basement.
