John P. of Center Moriches was increasingly concerned about the constant high humidity, dampness and mildew in his crawlspace. Our Systems Specialist Gabriel was shocked to find that the humidity level was 88%! The air conditioner ducts were dripping from condensation. The fiberglass insulation was dripping with moisture and falling out from between the joists. There was mold, and some rot on the floor joists. There was awful smell permeating the entire house, originating from the crawlspace, and the dampness was traveling, too.
The customer chose to hire a friend to remove the old insulation, and then spray foam the perimeter and ceilings of this small crawl space to kill the current mold and rot, and insulate them from any further moisture damage.
Healthy Basement Systems was hired to encapsulate the crawlspace. Gabriel recommended our patented CleanSpace products to control moisture from the ground, and remove and prevent further smells and water vapor in the crawlspace.
Drainage matting was installed on the floors, and Cleanspace was thern installed on the floor, walls, and piers (the brick columns that support many crawl space ceilings in many people's homes).
The air in Peter's entire home is now dry, and there are no more unusual smells emanating from the crawl space. The mold, mildew and rot are banished, never to return! We guarantee our work 100% , and that guarantee transfers to the new owner, should you ever sell your home.
The customer had water seepage in her basement from time to time, but after a particularly heavy rain she suddenly had two inches of water in her basement! She decided it was time to waterproof the basement, and called Healthy Basement Systems for an estimate. Systems Designer Andrew Bouchard developed the perfect system to waterproof her basement and keep it dry.
First, we waterproofed the basement floor. We installed WaterGuard around the entire outer perimeter of the basement floor, with two WaterGuard Ports placed strategically so the homeowner can check the WaterGuard from time to time to ensure water can still flow freely and is not blocked. We then installed trench drains in smaller spaces within the basement in areas that also need drainage, such as under the stairs and along interior walls; for instance, where the SuperSump was to be installed next to the washer and dryer. We then installed the SuperSump pump to drain all the water out of the basement and out of the home, and installed an Ice Guard and a LawnScape to direct that water away from the house in any weather conditions.
Finally, we covered the walls with our beautiful, white CleanSpace vapor barrier, which helps control high humidity, provides some insulation on the walls, and most important, prevents the growth of mold and mildew.
We assisted the client with with financing the project as well.
The customer now has a dry, clean basement with sparkling white vinyl vapor barrier walls. The home's basement is now, will remain, dry and healthy, and has a much nicer appearance. With a healthy basement, the family will never suffer from dust, mold, or mildew irritants or allergies.
The client is delighted with the results! She was especially happy with our Written Guarantee, which guarantees our products for the life of the home, and transfers to a new owner if the home is ever sold.
The customer's new construction house had a significant amount of water coming into the basement. Upon inspection our Systems Designer found very high humidity, a leaking pipe, and water also appeared to be coming from the floor wall joint.
We installed a full perimeter WaterGuard system, a TripleSafe sump pump to pump the water out of the basement, and a FlexiSpan on the leaky pipe to send the water directly to the WaterGuard system. We installed a ThermalDry wall system on all walls as a vapor barrier to lower the humidity and a Sani-Dri indoor air quality machine to keep the humidity in the safe zone.
Mr.C had been living in his home for 24 years and is now looking to move. Now he realized that to sell the house he has certain steps that would need to be taken to prepate everything. In order not to lose value on the home Mr.C now had to fix all the major issues. He knew that he had some water seeping into his Utility Room for years but the basement wasn't being used so he never wanted to spend the money to do anything about it. What he didn't realize is that the occasional water significantly added to the humidity inside the basement which in turn has resulted in mold growth. Mr.C began looking for a professional who can address the problem as well as make a permanent fix so water doesn't come back. Thankfully Healthy Basement Systems has actually done work for his brother who also had a leaky basement. He recommended us to Mr.C.
Within just two days we had Eric, one of our best inspectors, evaluating the problem and thinking of a solution. Right then and there Eric was able to determine that the water was coming in due to the hydrostatic pressure from between the wall and the floor and proposed a solution. The place where the water was coming from actually happened to also be the lowest point in the basement which really played well in our favor. We were able to install the sump pump just in that area which was taking all the water in. We also killed all the mold, hepa vac'd the floor joists and the subfloor, as well as filtered the air from any remaining mold spores.
Mr.C had disclosed the initial water problems with the house and because Healthy Basement Systems gives a [ Dry Floor Warranty for the Life of the Home - Transferable to the new owner ], Mr.C was able to sell the home at the full asking price. He mentioned that the home used to have a mold problem although not a trace of it could be found after we did the mold clean up.
Mr. and Mrs.W lived in the house for 17 years but now, after long consideration, they finally decided that they'd like to move to Florida. Before the home was put on the market, an inspector was brought in to evaluate if there's any issues with the house. During the inspeciton it was discovered that the basement had 68% relative humidity (that's very high for the month of November), there was some standing water that sipped through a crack in the wall and due to all the moisture in the air the main girder was soft. These problems caused the home to sag. Upstairs floors were out of level, some doors were opening and closing too tightly, and in the main hallway a slight gap could be seen between where the floor meets the baseboard.
The inspector suggested that Mr and Mrs.W call in Healthy Basement Systems to further assess the situation. Within just two days, Eric, one of our best System Designers, met the homeowner and did a further inspection. It became obvious that we had to address the high humidity problem, fix the crack, replace the old, rusted supports and install an alternative to the main girder that wouldn't rot.
We ended up installing two power beams going parallel to the main girder, with SmartJack - adjustible steel supports. The Healthy Basement Systems team was actually able to move the center of the house (that sagged) back into place by roughtly 5/8"s. The crack was sealed with our patented FlexiSpan, which seals the crack and reliefs the pressure by allowing the water to flow under the house. The humiditiy in the entire basement was brought down to 30% (to dry out the wood) within less than an hour after installing the SaniDry Sedona.
The inspector was called in, the house was on the market within the same month. Only a month and a half later they found a buyer and were able to close on January. The Healthy Basement Systems warranty is for life of the home and is transferable to the next owner. The work that was done and the warranty was a strong selling point and the reason why the buyer felt confident with the purchase.
Mr. and Mrs.S had lived in the home for 27 years and they have a basement connected to the crawl space (combo). The basement section is fully renovated and is turned into a den. However, the crawl space section has uneven concrete floors, fiberglass insulation hanging down and has two vents which in the winter allow freezing cold air to come in - which in turn makes the floors in the kitchen upstairs very cold.
The reason Mrs.S called Healthy Basement Systems was actually not particularly common. The reason was because she got tired of the crawl space looking the way it does, with its ugly walls and just not having a presentative look to it.
We were happy to encapsulate the crawl space for her. In detail, we ended up putting insulation foam board on the concrete floors, which made it significantly softer, then we put our patented 20mil CleanSpace liner right over the foam. The walls were insulated with SilverGlo, the patented 10R insulation boards with great looking reflective surface to preserve the heat. Lastly the vents were sealed to prevent cold air from coming in.
The result was fantastic! A crawl space with clean, white, soft floors and silver walls. While Mrs.S primarily just wanted to have a great looking crawl space, she can even store stuff in it and it's comfortable to crawl in there!
Mrs.M had made an urgent call to Healthy Basement Systems in December due to floors in the house above the crawl space being extremely cold. She was afraid the pipes might freeze and something had to be done soon. For the last two days she kept the water running just to attempt to prevent the water from freezing.
Mrs.M has a home that was made in 1940's. It has a dirt crawl space, with stone walls and open vents. In the winter the freezing cold air is coming into the crawl space from the open vents. The damp, cold earth and the stone walls are absorbing whatever heat is left.
The solution proposed was to put antimicrobial foam insulation boards onto the dirt floor, spray foam insulation onto the walls (Regular foam board insulation cannot be installed onto stone because fasteners won't hold). And lastlty the vents had to be sealed to control the uncontidioned outside air.
The final result was fantastic. Mrs.M floors became much warmer, the pipes no longer even to be individually insulated because the crawl space wasn't losing heat anymore. The heating and energy bills were reduced and the home became a significantly more comfortable place to live. Mrs.M was so happy with the result that she agreed to be our referral, if we ever need one.
Customer had a small dirt crawl space that they wanted to be waterproofed and sealed. Deon Frisbie and his team of expert installers came in and fully encapsulated the crawl space to ensure that the space stayed dry and sealed off from the elements. Healthy Basement Systems is pleased to solve our customer's crawl space problems once and for all!
Customer had recurring problems in their basement. The pump system they had prior to Healthy Basement Systems was not performing well. Furthermore, the french drain system they had installed was not getting the job done! Rich Alexander, one of our experienced system design specialists, did an inspection and devised a system that will keep the basement dry, all the time. Deon Frisbie and his installation team dug out and replaced the existing drain system and replaced it with our patented WaterGuard system. Needless to say, Healthy Basement Systems saved our customer's problem, and they can now enjoy a dry, healthy basement.
Our customer has two crawl spaces in their home. One is inside the basement and the other had access from the outside. The customer wanted a vapor barrier installed and a solution for all of the moisture that would accumulate in the crawl spaces as well. Healthy Basement Systems came in and offered a complete solution for the customer's crawl space needs.
First, we installed the CleanSpace Drainage matting which allows water to flow underneath the CleanSpace Liner. This matting adds durability, puncture resistance, and a thermal break to isolate the home from the earth. Next, the CleanSpace liner is applied to fully encapsulate the crawl space. This dramatically reduces the humidity level in the air which, when combined with sealing outside air, will eliminate mold growth and rot from the crawl space and make the whole house healthier. Lastly, we installed our SilverGlo Wall Insulation System which resists heat conduction and boasts a radiant barrier, which reflects heat back into their crawl space for ultimate energy savings!
The customer called in Healthy Basement Systems to devise a plan to get the water out and keep the water out of their basement. Timothy Boyd did a thorough inspection and designed a system that would keep the basement dry all the time. There was water seeping through cracks in the walls and through the imperfect joints where the wall meets the floor. The basement also had very high humidity levels.
Our team cleaned up the basement and installed the TripleSafe Sump Pump System which boasts three pumps for complete protection. This will ensure that the customer has a backup if the first pump fails or can't keep up with the water, and a third battery-powered pump in case of power failure.
Mr. H had a dirt crawl space underneat his house that had mold visible on the walls and floor joists above. There was a musty smell and the walls were cold and damp to the touch. The dirt floor was also slightly damp. Eric Greenberg inspected the crawlspace and devised a system that would insulate and encapsulate the space and remove the mold.
Deon Frisbie and our expert installation team first used CleanStart Pro to kill all the mold. They removed any debris and made sure there weren't any rotting wood issues. Next, they laid down the CleanSpace drainage matting and liner to create a vapor barrier between the dirt and the ground. Next, they installed SilverGlo wall insulation panels which boast a radiant barrier to reflect heat back into the crawlspace, thus saving energy. With the wall panels installed, the finished the full encapsulation of the crawlspace, which makes the house healthier, waterproofed, and mold free!
Mrs. D has lived in her home in Blue Point for over 10 years. Living alongside a canal by the water was one of the reasons she bought the house, but during high tides the water would come up from the floors. There was evidence of mold on the floors and walls, and a musty smell in the basement that emananated up through the house. Mrs. D needed a solution to keep her basement dry and healthy. Eric Greenberg did a thorough inspection of the property and the basement, and devised a plan that would provide a permanent waterproofing solution.
Our team used CleanStart to kill the mold present on the floors and walls. They also installed the SaniDry Sedona to eliminate the damp, musty odors by drying and filtering the air. Next, they dug a trench around the perimeter and installed the WaterGuard piping system, which catches any water before it reaches the floor, and carries it to the TripleSafe pump system. We created a discharge line that brought the water up and out of the basement, and installed the IceGuard and LawnScape discharge lines outside to make sure the water gets out even when the lines become frozen.
Mrs. D no longer has to worry about a wet basement during high tides, and can enjoy a dry, healthy basement year round!
The customer called us when their basement flooded after some heavy rain. Any time a flood warning was issued by the weather service, they would prepare for another flood in their basement. They decided to get a permanent fix for the flooding issues, and knew they could trust us to get the job done right.
Rich Alexander, one of our system design experts, did a thorough inspection of the basement. He found signs of water damage on the floors and walls of the basement, and determined the water was coming in through the walls and underneath the floors. He developed a system that would keep the basement dry all the time.
The major components of the waterproofing system included the installation of the TripleSafe sump pump system, WaterGuard piping system, and a well duct window well drain. In addition, the IceGuard and LawnScape were also installed. Each on of these works together to keep the basement dry. The TripleSafe pump is designed to work during heavy rain and power failure, and features a three-pump system that will keep up with large amounts of water. We also installed CleanSpace along the walls to create a vapor barrier and further protect the damaged walls.
Not even two weeks after installation, East Northport got hit by a torrential downpour which lasted for hours, and the customers basement did not get flooded! There is no doubt that the customer can rest assured their basement will stay dry all the time!
Mrs. M called us in with concerns about flooding after hurricane sandy. There was no water damage in the unfinished basement, but there was high humidity. Water also seeps into the basement through the walls during high tides and large rain storms. Mrs. M had already went through 2 sump pumps but they never got the job done.
After a thorough inspection, Eric Greenberg, one of our system design specialists, came up with a system that will provide a permanent waterproofing solution and keep the basement dry and lower the humidity.
The system installed consisted of a TripleSafe sump pump system and WaterGuard piping system, which work in tandem to collect the water before it gets to the basement floor and carry it to the TripleSafe for discharge. The system also included the IceGuard and LawnScape to allow for discharge during freezing temperatures, and a SaniDry Sedona which will filter the air and keep the air in the basement dry. We also installed the BrightWall wall panels to provide the basement with a clean, semi-finished touch.
The system we installed has kept Mrs. M's basement dry during heavy rain and high tide, and she does not have to worry the next time a storm hits her area.
The customer called us in to assess their crawlspace. They had a pre-existing sump pump that was old and not performing well. They also wanted to learn more about sealing out the crawlspace and dehumidifying the area. Andrew Bouchard, one of our system design specialists, did a thorough inspection of the space and developed a system that would keep the crawlspace dry all the time.
We upgraded their pump system with the SuperSump pump system. The SuperSump pump features a WaterWatch alarm system which will sound off if water rises above the point where the pump should turn on, allowing the homeowner ample time to address any issues before damage occurs. The airtight lid also allows for more storage space on the floor and keeps objects from falling into the sump hole. We then attached a discharge line, and installed the SaniDry Sedona to dehumidify the air and filter out any mold particles in the air.
The customer was pleased with the work Andrew and the foremen did on the job, and they do not need to worry about their crawlspace getting water damage anymore.

Each product in the system works in tandem to keep the basement dry and ensure that mold will not return to the basement. The customer can now rest assured that their basement will remain healthy for the lifetime of the home, backed by our warranty and dedicated service department!
Mr. O called Healthy Basement Systems with concerns about a crack in their foundation wall. During periods of heavy rain, water would seep through the crack in the wall and pool along the floor.
Our team inspected the crack in the wall, and came up with a solution to repair the crack permanently. We used FlexiSpan, our patented crack repair method. The crack was sealed with a bead of a flexible sealant. A 3" wide strip of FlexiSpan open cell foam is applied over the sealant and tucked into the waterproofing system on the floor. A coat of special sealant is applied over the FlexiSpan foam strip, creating a sealed patch from the top of the crack to the bottom. This method will slow and in most cases stop the flow of water through the crack.
Since the application of the FlexiSpan, the customer has not had a single leak through the crack. Healthy Basement Systems is happy to help solve any and all foundation wall crack issues.
The customer called Healthy Basement Systems looking to waterproof their basement. We sent our team to do an inspection of the basement, and we developed a system that would provide a permanent waterproofing solution.

Our head foreman Deon and his team were able to get into the crawlspace and install a variety of top notch HBS products to get rid of the mold and give Noah a healthier, drier basement and piece of mind.
First, after killing and removing all the mold with CleanStart, Deon and his installation team rolled out Terrablock, an expanded foam insulation which creates a vapor barrier between the dirt floor and the crawl space. This helps to insulate the floors and keep the warm air inside. Next, they fully encapsulated the crawl space with our patented CleanSpace liner, a durable and felixble liner to create a vapor barrier between the foundation walls and crawl space. The team next applied the RimTight Insulation right above the foundation wall by the ceiling, which seals and insulates the rim joists. Lastly, the team installed our patented SaniDry Sedona, which is the world's most energy efficient and high-performing dehumidifier and air filtration system. All of these products, along with our professional installation crew, gave Noah the confidence that his home is much safer, healthier, and more energy efficient.
A wet basement in Islandia, NY was in need of help. The basement was becoming damp and constantly wet due to excessive water build up, even resulting in floodage. The homeowners called Healthy Basement Systems to fix these problems and give the owners the dry and healthy basement that they deserve.
The three main products that the production team installed into this basement was a SuperPump, WaterGuard and Trench Drain. The SuperSump drains water from the floor and other areas of your basement into this SuperPump system. The system also comes with a built-in alarm that alerts you when water levels with the pump are getting too high, so it will never over flood. The WaterGuard captures any and all leaks within your basement walls and floors. It then safely disposes the excess seepage water caught into the SuperPump. The trench drains were than installed for extra protection in tighter, smaller areas of the basement. This is for the areas that are more difficult to reach but still need to be properly drained to avoid a wet basement. With the combinations of these products, this Islandia home is now fully protected and safe from any further water damage within the basement.
A home in West Sayville, NY had a bad mold problem in their basement. This was due to water that had seeped through the walls and floors over time and caused mold to form. The homeowners were worried about their health and wanted to get rid of the mold as soon as possible. Our team at Healthy Basement Systems made sure not only that all the mold would be removed, but also insulated and waterproofed their basement to prevent this problem from ever reoccurring.
After assessing the situation, our production team entered the basement and safely disposed of all the mold. Now that the basement was free of mold, the team took the necessary precautions to make sure it stayed that way. Our team insulated the basement and installed products to waterproof it. One of the products they installed was the TripleSafe sump pump. The TripleSafe is a top of the line sump pump that has three pumps for extra duty work. It can handle more than a regular sump pump, and even works during power outages. In addition to the TripleSafe was the WaterGuard, which soaks up water from wall and floor seepages and transfers it into the sump pump. In addition to these waterproofing products, this home also purchased the Sanidry Sedona dehumidifier. The dehumidifier makes sure the basement does not get too humid so no moisture will enter and cause a wet basement. This basement is now mold free, insulated and waterproofed!
This crawl space in Calverton, NY had heavy water damage that in the process caused mold to grow and live within the crawl space. The homeowners realized that enough was enough, and the situation would only get increasingly worse if not handled immediately. Waterproofing is essential to keep the area dry so no mold will grow or water will enter again. To do this, the team put SilverGlo on the walls. SilverGlo creates a vapor barrier and prevents mold growth. It is a highly effective wall insulation system. Next, the CleanSpace encapsulation system was installed on the floors to keep the crawl space floor clean, dry, and energy efficient. Two sump pumps were also installed in the corners of the crawl space to collect any excess water and safely dispose of it outside the home. To top things off, the customers also had the SaniDry Sedona Dehumidifier installed since humidity attracts mold. With all these waterproofing installations, their crawl space is now dry, healthy and completely protected from any mold or water infiltration ever again!
