We've been in our home since 2005 and the basement has flooded 2x's. Half the basement is already finished but I want to gut it and redo as well as part of the unfinished side. We have 2 young children and fear there could be mold or something worse already down there because my wife has trouble breathing when we watch tv down in the basement. i am interested in waterproofing and finishing it the right way. Thanks for your time

Water coming to basement from window well

Ourparents purchased this house in 1946 where we 3 kids grew up. The house is now on the Market and we have concern about anyone who questions the water in the basement? We are at a high water table on the street and are no strangers to water in the basement when there is a steady number of days rain or hurricaine. We have a sump pump in what had been a coal bin were there is no concrete but rather soil. This is the major area where water will accumulate causing the sump pump to trigger on. But this is only maybe 2-3 times in a year. But, we are always at the effect of the pumps working, etc. Water does puddle in the general other area of the basement but this is not all that much and can be broomed or pumped out with a small pump in a small pit. Can you give us an estimate as to what it would cost to remedy this situation, both the coal bin area, and the general basement area which now is only used as storage and housing the utilities? Thank you for your consideration.

I have an unfinished basement that has certain areas in which water collects. There is a slight odor to the basement and I'm concerned that mold may be growing. With one small child and another on the way, and knowing that there are health concerns associated with mold, it is something that I'd like to correct.

I own a 1903 home built on a part poured cement crawl space and part 6 foot red brick foundation. The brick portion takes in a lot of water. Please call at your convenience

We have a small ranch on the water in Seaford. Everytime we have a bad rain water gets under the crawl space. I have purchased a 1/4 hp sump from home depot every year for the past three years. The pump only seems to last a year before it is fried. We have a crawl space that is mostly dirt floored and is ventilated. I was hoping that I could get an estimate on a better sump pump and better installation to limit the amount of flooding we get under the house. When the flooding gets bad, the hot water heater pilot goes out and we have had to replace the thermocoupler several times. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks, charlie
