Ernest A., our customer in Greenvale, NY, had a crawlspace under a portion of his house. The cold air and dampness of the space could be felt in the room above it, making it uncomfortable. He called us in to see if we could offer a solution to the problems.
Utilizing our patented CleanSpace® Crawl Space Vapor Barrier, we eliminated the cold floor in his kitchen above and as well as the dampness that was damaging his floor joists, which would eventually have caused a sagging floor. Mr. A was very satisfied with the results.
Installing a crawl space vapor barrier is one of the most cost-effective ways to improve your home and prevent the need for future crawl space repairs.
This gentleman called from his condominiumhome in Woodbury, NY to tell us that water was coming in the boiler room at the cove. Years ago he had French drains installed, but there were no drains in the boiler room. Upon inspection, our salesperson Eric determined that the water was coming from a crack in the foundation. Using our patented, warrantied FlexiSpan products, we sealed the crack permanently.
We started by sealing the crack with a high-viscosity polyurethane polymer. This gets deep in the cracks to form a durable, flexible seal.
Then we addressed our secondary drainage strategy. The polyurethane polymer seal should never fail. If it ever does, 95% of the water should still be stopped from leaking in. To ensure a proper and complete repair, we installed a secondary layer of drainage on the basement wall -- one that directed water to the existing basement drainage system (or a dry well).
To keep the foundation walls looking great, we overlaid the sealed wall crack with a polyurethane sealant. Light gray in color, it gave the repair a professional, finished appearance.
The end result of this FlexiSpan® installation was a happy homeowner with a professional-looking, permanent basement wall crack repair that includes a written warranty, which will transfer to the new owner if the current owner ever decides to sell the home. Our work is guaranteed for the life of the home!
The homeowner called and requested an estimate to waterproof and finish their basement; during heavy rains water comes up from the floors.
Our seasoned Systems Designer, Rich Alexander, visited the client and discovered he had not only a wet basement, but also a very unhealthy crawl space that had never been cleaned and was not insulated. This is not unusual, as many homeowners don't even know they have a crawlspace, and those that do know, have never ventured into it.
Most crawl spaces are vented, so that in summer, warm air enters the crawl space and circulates throughout the home, reducing air conditioning efficiency, and in winter, cold air reduces heating efficiency. Not only that, crawl spaces are usually dirty and unhealthy, filled with dirt, dust, mold, insects and critters. and other allergens -- and that air is circulated throughout the home via the HVAC system!
We first addressed the flooding issues. We fully waterproofed the basement with WaterGuard XL, and added two WaterGuard Ports so the homeowner can check to ensure the system is working properly. We also installed a Triple Safe Pump, which has THREE pumps, to control any future flooding. The third pump is battery powered, so in the event of a power outage during a major storm, water continues to be pumped out of the basement. We also installed an IceGuard and a LawnScape, to ensure easy drainage out of the house in all seasons.
To complete the basement waterproofing, we installed our CleanSpace wall system, a vapor barrier which keeps the humidity level low enough that mold cannot grow. It completely covers the walls and piers with a healthy, clean white barrier to dirt, water, humidity, and mold.
We then completely cleaned the crawlspace and removed all the dirt and debris. We fully insulated the crawl space with our patented SilverGlo insulation to substantially reduce heating and cooling costs for the home.
The customer is now able to use the entire basement, and both basement and crawl space will remain clean, free of water, humidity, and mold, ensuring that the customer and his family remain healthy!
Our products are warrantied for the life of the home, and come with a Written Guarantee that transfers to the new owner in the event the customer ever sells his home.
The customer is thrilled with his new basement, clean crawl space, and healthy home!
Our customer, Nicholads R., just bought a home and noticed there was mold and water seeping into the basement. Our Systems Designer Eric Greenberg found mold on the walls and floor, water seeping thru the floor/wall/footing join, and a relatively high humidity.
We performed a CleanStart Plus Mold Cleanup, then installed a WaterGuard system with a TripleSafe sump pump, and a SaniDry Sedona dehumidifier. The WaterGuard removes any water before it has a chance to get onto the floor, the TripleSafe pumps it outside, and the Sedona keeps the mold from coming back.
An IceGuard and a LawnScape were also installed to allow the TripleSafe to drain the water outside in any possible weather conditions.
Mr. R. is very happy that he will enjoy a dry, humidity-free basement for years to come!
Mr. R. of Massapequa, NY called and said was "very damp and musty in the basement," and that he also wanted to possibly evaluate the crawl space. He said his crawl space had no electric outlet, and asked if it needed one. We confirmed that he would need an outlet and an electrician to install it before we could begin work, and sent him a list of electricians we've worked with and trust to choose from.
Our seasoned Systems Designer Rich Alexander visited the home and determined that the crawl space did indeed require mold removal, encapsulation and dehumidification, as it was affecting the rest of the basement and the house.
We started with CleanStart Plus to clean up the mold. We then installed our patented CleanSpace Drainage Matting on the floor, and CleanSpace on the walls, as a vapor barrier. Over the CleanSpace we installed our patented SilverGlo on the walls, which reflects both heat and cool back into the space, providing considerable energy efficiency and savings.
Lastly. we installed our SaniDry Sedona dehumidifier to control the humidity levels and keep them low. The Sedona never needs emptying, only servicing twice a year.
Mr. R. was thrilled with the one-day installation, and his new dry, odor-free, mold-free crawl space and basement!
Mr.B had been living in the home for 7 years. He has had a problem with pipes freezing ever since he moved in August 2011. Mr.B had the pipes reinsulated in 2016 which reduced how often the pipes would freeze but on paritularly cold days it would still happen. The home owner actually got used to leaving the faucet on just to prevent the water from freezing and bursting the pipe.
Thankully Mr.B found our company. We sent one of our experts, Mike Alexander, to inspect the issue. Turns out Mr.B had a basement that's a combo which is connected to a crawl space. The crawl space has 3 vents in it which during winter lets cold, freezing air inside the basement and in the summer allows hot, humid air to come in which adds to the humidity. Also, the crawl space walls weren't insulated which meant during winter any heat would simply escape outside.
We proposed to insulate the walls with thick R10 foam insulation boards, insulate the floor and seal the vents with airtight covers.
The result was fantastic. The temperature in the basement went up significantly, the HVAC was more effective and apparently there was a visible difference in reduction of the heating costs.
Mr. D called us in to investigate water seepage that was occurring in various locations in his basement. The water was collecting between the foundation walls and the finished drywall. The water was also finding its way into their utility closets. The customer had two existing sump pumps but they were not keeping up with the water.
Eric Greenberg, one of our expert system design specialists, came up with a system that would keep the customer's basement dry all the time. The major components of Mr. D's waterproofing system included the installation of our WaterGuard piping system and the TripleSafe sump pump system. In addition, we installed the LawnScape and IceGuard products. Each product works together to ensure a dry basement and crawlspace all the time. The TripleSafe sump pump system is the world's most reliable pump system. It has three pumps to offer you complete protection. If the first pump fails, the second one takes over, which more than doubles the capacity. And if the power ever goes out, an UltraSump Battery Backup Pump takes over; and it's all automatic!
Mr. D can now enjoy a dry, healthy basement. Healthy Basement System's is proud to be able solve Mr. D's basement water problems in Oceanside, NY once and for all!
Mrs. W called us in after water was getting into her basement during periods of heavy rain. She had a previous drainage system in place, but it was not keeping up with the water in the basement. Furthermore, the foundation of her house was becoming damaged due to the natural movement of the soil in the active zone below her house.
Eric Greenberg, one of our expert system designers, inspected the basement and devised a system that will keep the basement dry and healthy all the time. He also offered a solution to repair and reinforce the foundation. First, we installed our WaterGuard Waterproofing System and SuperSump Pump System. They work together to ensure that all the water is collected before it hits the basmenet floor, and is guided to the SuperSump for discharge. We then installed our Geo-Lock anchor system to support the foundation. The anchor system is embedded into the soil away from the foundation wall. They are connected to steel wall plates with galvanized steel rods. The anchors hold the walls in their current position, and can be tightened during dry periods, allowing for improvement and straightening of the walls over time.
Needless to say, Mrs. W's basement will remain dry with our waterproofing system, and her foundation walls will be straightened over time with our Geo-Lock anchor system.
Our customer called us in to check the mold in her basement. They also said that they had flooding in their basement when it rained.
Rich Alexander, one of our expert system design specialists, came in and inspected the home. He found mold on the ceiling and floor joists. He also identified that the water was coming in through the imperfect joint where the wall meets the floor. He devised a system to keep the basement dry and a plan to eradicate the mold.
First, our team installed the WaterGuard System along the perimeter of the basement floor. The system allows water to flow to the TripleSafe Pump System we installed, and keeps the water off of the basement floors. We also installed the LawnScape and IceGuard discharge systems. Lastly, we killed all the mold using CleanStart, and installed our Sanidry Sedona to keep the humidity down and to filter the air of any mold spores.
The customer and family noticed that the musty smell from the mold went away and the basement felt more comfortable. They are now able to enjoy watching television on the big screen in their basement, and never have to worry about having a wet or unhealthy basement again.
The customer called us in after water was getting into their basement. Upon inspection, Michael Alexander, one of our expert system design specialists, came up with a system that will keep the basement dry, all the time. We installed the TripleSafe sump pump system to provide a permanent waterproofing solution even during heavy rains or storms that knock out the power. We also installed our patented WaterGuard piping system to catch the water before it hits the basement floor, and the IceGuard and LawnScape discharge systems.
The customer had a dirt crawl space that was in bad condition. There was a lot of debris, rocks, and pieces of insulation that was hanging off the cieling and along the floors. The humidity levels were very high, and mold was present along the walls and floor joists. The ground and walls were cold and damp.
Eric Greenberg did a thorough inspection of the crawlspace, and devised a system that would rid the crawlspace of the mold, insulate the walls and floors, and keep the humidity down.
We first removed the debris and rotten insulation, and treated the crawlspace with CleanStart to kill all the mold. We then installed SilverGlo wall panels and TerraBlock floor barriers to insulate the entire crawlspace from the ground up. We then encapsulated the full perimeter with CleanSpace to create an anti-microbial vapor barrier. We also installed the SaniDry Sedona, which will filter the air and eliminate damp, musty odors and dry the air.
We turned a damp and dark crawlspace into a bright and healthy area, and lowered the customers energy bills by insulating the crawlspace.
The customer called Healthy Basement Systems with concerns after their basement was flooding during heavy rains. Rich Alexander, one of our seasoned system design specialists, visited the customer and did a thorough inspection of the basement. He came up with a system that will permanently waterproof the basement and insulate the walls.
We first installed WaterGuard around the perimeter of the basement floors. The WaterGuard will catch the water before it reaches the basement floors, and carries the water to the pumps. We then installed the SuperSump pump system in one area, and the UltraSump in another area of the basement. This will ensure that the water will be pumped out regardless of which rooms in the basement experience water leaking. We installed the CleanSpace along the walls to create a vapor barrier and cover exposed foundation walls. Lastly, we finished the installation with our patented LawnScape and IceGuard discharge lines to allow the water to be pumped out even if the lines freeze.
There's no doubt that the customer can now enjoy a cleaner, healthier, and dry basement. Healthy Basement Systems is pleased we can solve Long Island customer's basement water problems.
The customer called Healthy Basement Systems to discuss the damp and musty smell in their finished basement. We had installed a waterproofing system that was working to keep the basement dry, but the humidity levels were above 60%.
We installed a SaniDry Sedona to lower the humidity and eliminate the damp and musty smell from the basement. Within days, the musty smell was gone. The customer can now enjoy their dry and healthy basement without worrying about breathing in anything other than clean, filtered air.
The customer called Healthy Basement Systems looking to create a play area for their children. They had an unfinished basement that was cool and damp. The main concern was making sure the basement was comfortable and healthy when the job was finished.
Our team came in and installed ThermalDry wall panels along the walls. ThermalDry stops water vapor, drains wall leaks, and reflects 97% of the indoor heat back into the basement. This will ensure that the basement will stay warmer and also lower energy bills. We then installed ThermalDry tiled basement flooring which is mold resistant and turns cold, damp, hard concrete into beautiful, dry, comfortable floors. Next, we covered the insulated walls with dry wall and painted the walls and ceilings for a clean, finished look. Lastly, we installed a SaniDry Sedona dehumidifier to keep the basement dry and clean out the air.
The customer was thrilled with the end result. They moved their children's toys into the new play area and now the family can enjoy their newly finished basement.
The customer called Healthy Basement Systems after a storm flooded their basement. They were concerned that it would happen again, and they had scrambled to move their valuables off the basement floors. Luckily, we had a waterproofing solution installed for them within days.
Our team laid WaterGuard piping around the full perimeter of the basement to catch any water before it reaches the basement floor, and carries it to the TripleSafe pump system we installed in the lowest point of the basement. These two products work together to make sure the water never reaches the floor and is pumped away from the house.
The customer has not had a water problem in their basement since. Our waterproofing system even held up during hurricane Sandy. Call Healthy Basement Systems anytime you need a permanent waterproofing solution.
The customer called us with concerns of mold and water in their dirt crawl space. After a thorough inspection, we devised a system that would lower the humidity and waterproof the area.
Our installation team installed our patented EZ-Flow piping system which boasts a flexible piping solution to keep the water from reaching the floor. Next, we used CleanStart to kill all the present mold, and Encapsulated the floor and walls with CleanSpace. We installed the SaniDry Sedona, which works in tandem with the CleanSpace to lower the humidity and filter out the air.
The crawl space was in bad shape before installation, but afterwards it was clean and functional. The customer didn't have to worry about breathing in any unhealthy air that traveled up into their living space, and they knew that there would be no more water in the crawlspace as well.
This customer called us with concerns of a moldy crawlspace. Rich Alexander did a thorough inspection of the crawl space and came up with a plan to remove the mold, lower the humidity, and encapsulate the walls and floor to restore this dirty crawl space.
Our installation team first removed the mold with CleanStart. Next, they encapsulated the walls and floors with CleanSpace to create a vapor barrier between the dirt floor and walls. Lastly, they installed the SaniDry Sedona to provide energy efficient dehumidification as well as to filter out the mold spores in the air. Within days, the crawl space had no moldy odors and the entire area was cleaner and healthier.
We recieved a complaint about moldy drywall and water seepage that occured often at the customer's basement. Our System Designs Specialist investigated the problem and sure enough, we found mold and cracks that allowed for leaks and mold to develop. We also recognized the customer's sump pump wasn't working properly and needed to be replaced. After giving an estimate, we got right to work. We tore down the old dry wall and installed new sheet rock. We installed our SuperSump pump system and ran WaterGuard along the perimeter of the basement. WaterGuard catches the water and carries it to the pump, which discharges it out and away from the house.
The customer called us in regards to humidity problems and a moldy crawlspace. Eric Greenburg, our system design specialist, gave a thorough inspection and designed a framework of how to tackle the issues at hand. Our installation team removed the mold with CleanStart, which kills the mold. We removed the old insulation and used sprayfoam to insulate the crawlspace. To remove the humidity, we installed our Sanidry Sedona to filter air, making the crawlspace clean and healthy.
The customer called saying his basement was flooding and it was very humid in there. Our sales person Rich Alexander spoke with the customer to get a better understanding of what was happening and set up a time and date. Our crew first set up the CleanSpace which utilizes a thick (20mil) white poly sheet material to completely cover basement foundation walls. This creates a vapor barrier and improves water proofing. We then installed our famous TripleSafe sump pump. This three in one sump pump. Pump 1 is a heavy-duty 1/3 horsepower (HP) cast-iron Zoeller pump that does most of the pumping, handling up to 2,600 gallons of water per hour. Pump 2 is a 1/2 HP pump that operates automatically if Pump 1 fails or if greater pumping volume is needed (up to 6,200 gallons per hour) and Pump 3 is a battery-operated pump that turns on automatically if power fails. The customer was super pleased with the results.
