Serving Nassau and Suffolk Counties on Long Island
Larry Foster really enjoys his job at Healthy Basement Systems! He has only been with the company for three months, since June 2017, but says, "I really like my job because it's "hands-on" work, and you learn lots of new things." Certified by NCCER, Larry had a substantial home improvement knowledge base before joining Healthy Basement Systems, as his prior experience includes yard work, home repairs, construction, and plumbing, and we are very pleased to put his skills to use at Healthy Basement Systems.
As part the Production Team, Larry prepares for the job, does the job, and then cleans up afterward. Larry is the very heart of our business, doing a world-class job of waterproofing a basement or cleaning a crawl space, resolving the issues the homeowner wants resolved, and leaving everything neat and clean, in much better condition than when he arrived.
In his free time, Larry enjoys fishing, crabbing, and spending time with his children.
CleanSpace and SilverGlo used to help repair this old, scary looking crawl space.
Our customer purchased this house with the intent to renovate and resell. While the house was on the market, many of our customer's potential buyers noticed the severe leakage and water table issues within the basement/crawl space leading them to seek other homes. As the #1 Waterproofer on Long Island, our customer requested us to develop a system that would create a safe and healthy environment for this basement/crawl space. Our experienced systems design specialist Michael Alexander initially recommended a full perimeter waterproofing system, however he and Bill Simone collaborated with our customer to create a custom solution for the water seepage.
After deciding on a CleanSpace vapor barrier encapsulation led by foreman Larry Foster, this system was able to drain the existing leaks and stop the water vapor from continuing to permeate through walls. Furthermore, a sump pump was installed to efficiently pump out the water through the discharge line. The efforts made by Healthy Basement Systems helped sell this house while also creating a safe and healthy environment for our customer and future home owners.
Healthy Basement Systems cleaned up an unhealthy crawlspace in Quogue, NY with our CleanSpace Vapor Barrier system.
Our customer called struggling with flooding and a presence of mold in their crawl space. After inspection of the area, our Systems Design Specialist George Van Glahn confirmed the growth of mold along the wood along the ceiling of the crawl space. George also learned that this customer had a sump pump installed by a friend 3 weeks prior that goes off every 20 seconds. To solve this, George designed a system to remove the existing mold in addition to waterproofing and encapsulating the crawl space.
The primary foreman, Larry Foster, used this information and replaced that pump with a SmartSump and UltraSump to waterproof and encapsulate the crawl space. Larry and his team then installed a discharge line going out and into the front yard into a soon to be flower bed along with installing a LawnScape outlet and an IceGuard. Larry also utilized CleanStart plus to remove the existing mold from the whole ceiling of the crawl space. After the job has been completed, our customer has not had any water or mold issues.
We were able to create a safer and healthier environment for a homeowner in Sag Harbor by providing crawlspace and foundation repair along with waterproofing the basement.
Our customer had water seeping into the basement despite the fact he had a french drain already installed. After observation by Eric Greenberg, he found significant cracks in the floor, high humidity (despite a big box store dehumidifier running), some mold, and two small crawlspaces. After questioning the customer, who was an architect, he decided he wanted to make the basement/crawlspaces look better as well as increase the insulation.
We first replaced the existing French drain system with our patented WaterGuard system with laterals to address the floor cracks. We then encapsulated the crawlspaces to reduce the humidity naturally. To address the mold, we applied CleanStart Plus and installed a SaniDry Sedona air quality machine to keep humidity low and prevent the mold from reappearing. We installed SilverGlo on the walls of the crawlspace and Terrablock on the floor. BrightWall was then put on the basement walls to make it look better while also acting as a vapor barrier to help keep humidity low. Finally, we installed ThermalDry flooring to give the basement a finished look, as well as keep humidity low and make the floor warmer than regular tile.
Our team successfully waterproofed this Amagansett basement with our CleanSpace vapor barrier and SmartSump sump pump systems.
