If you’re looking for help with a damp, flooded basement or crawl space, basement finishing, gutter guard installation, or foundation problems, Healthy Basement Systems can help. Mr. R. of Massapequa, NY called and said was "very damp and musty in the basement," and that he also wanted to possibly evaluate the crawl space. He said his crawl space had no electric outlet, and asked if it needed one. We confirmed that he would need an outlet and an electrician to install it before we could begin work, and sent him a list of electricians we've worked with and trust to choose from.
Our seasoned Systems Designer Rich Alexander visited the home and determined that the crawl space did indeed require mold removal, encapsulation and dehumidification, as it was affecting the rest of the basement and the house.
We started with CleanStart Plus to clean up the mold. We then installed our patented CleanSpace Drainage Matting on the floor, and CleanSpace on the walls, as a vapor barrier. Over the CleanSpace we installed our patented SilverGlo on the walls, which reflects both heat and cool back into the space, providing considerable energy efficiency and savings.
Lastly. we installed our SaniDry Sedona dehumidifier to control the humidity levels and keep them low. The Sedona never needs emptying, only servicing twice a year.
Mr. R. was thrilled with the one-day installation, and his new dry, odor-free, mold-free crawl space and basement!
